Introduction

System Description

Draw To Sign is a plug-and-play electronic signature solution that enables users to sign naturally using a supported electronic signature pad. It integrates with applications that use Mouse Sign signature fields, eliminating the need to sign using a computer mouse while preserving compatibility with existing applications.

What is a Mouse Sign signature?

A Mouse Sign signature is a signature field that allows users to draw a handwritten signature using mouse movement within a signature canvas. The canvas captures the electronic ink of the signature and stores it as a handwritten signature.

Mouse Sign signature fields can be implemented in both web-based and desktop applications.

Challenges with Mouse Sign signatures

Signing with a computer mouse can be difficult and often produces signatures that do not accurately reflect a person’s natural handwriting. This may reduce the quality, appearance, and authenticity of the captured signature.

Draw To Sign addresses this by allowing users to sign naturally using a compatible electronic signature pad while maintaining compatibility with existing Mouse Sign signature fields.

How to Use

Prerequisite

Before using Draw To Sign, ensure that the signature pad driver has been installed and the signature pad is functioning correctly.

For installation instructions, refer to the Draw To Sign Setup Instructions.

The Software

Draw To Sign is a Windows application that runs in the system tray after launch.

Ensure the application is running before signing documents.

Most configuration is performed by right-clicking the Draw To Sign icon in the Windows system tray.

License

Draw To Sign includes a 30-day evaluation license for evaluation purposes.

To view your current license:

  1. Right-click the Draw To Sign system tray icon.
  2. Select License.
  3. If you have purchased Draw To Sign, enter the license key provided and click OK.

If you are evaluating the software, please send an email to sales@isagecomm.com for a 30-day evaluation license key.

If you have purchased the software, please obtain the license key from your tax invoice or from sales support.

After entering the license key, click OK.

You can verify the updated license by opening the License dialog again.

Click Ok and you will see your license updated when you click License again.

Settings

Configure Draw To Sign before using the software.

Right-click the Draw To Sign system tray icon and select Settings.

Signature Pad Settings

This setting clears the electronic ink in the signature pad after the pad is idle for the specified number of seconds.

Program Settings

You can configure Draw To Sign to start automatically when Windows starts.

Draw To Sign can also automatically detect supported signature pad hardware.

If disabled, the program looks for an INI file in the program directory.

Signature Field Selection

Draw To Sign supports three signature field selection modes:

  • Static Area – Displays the captured signature in a user-defined area configured using Set Signature Area.
  • Active Window – Automatically maps the signature area to the active application window.
  • Browser Extension – Used for browser-based signing together with the Draw To Sign Browser Extension.

Signature Modes

Draw To Sign supports three signature modes.

Select the appropriate mode according to your application.

Browser Extension (Recommended for Web Applications)

Use this mode when signing in supported HTML5 web applications using the Draw To Sign Browser Extension.

After selecting Browser Extension:

  1. Ensure the Draw To Sign Browser Extension is installed and enabled in Google Chrome.
  2. Select Browser Extension under Signature Field Selection in Draw To Sign Settings.
  3. Open the supported web page.
  4. Click the required signature field until it is highlighted with the green overlay.
  5. Sign naturally using the signature pad.

Static Area

Use this mode when the signature field remains in a fixed position.

  1. Open the application and display the signature field (for example, Adobe Add Signature).
  2. Select Static Area in Draw To Sign Settings.
  3. Right-click the Draw To Sign tray icon and select Set Signature Area.
  4. Drag to define a rectangle that matches the application’s signature field.
  5. Sign using the signature pad.

Active Window

Use Active Window when the signature field location varies within the active application window.

  1. Open Settings from the Draw To Sign system tray icon.
  2. Select Active Window.
  3. Adjust the Active Window Reduction Size if required.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Open your application and sign using the signature pad.

Note: Draw To Sign automatically maps the signature area based on the active window.

 

 

Using Draw To Sign

Getting Started

After completing the one-time setup, launch Draw To Sign.

The Draw To Sign icon will appear in the Windows system tray.

Ensure the status shows StepOver Connected before starting your application.

Depending on your application:

  • Adobe/Desktop Applications — Use Active Window or Static Area mode.
  • Web Browser (HTML5) — Use Browser Extension mode together with the Draw To Sign Browser Extension.

Once the signature field is ready, sign naturally using the signature pad.

FAQ

Does Draw To Sign work with non-LCD signature pads?

Yes.

Draw To Sign supports both LCD and non-LCD signature pads.

For non-LCD signature pads, LCD-related settings (such as the auto-clear timeout) are ignored.

Why doesn’t my signature fill the entire signature area?

The displayed signature is automatically scaled to match the active sensor area of the signature pad.

As a result, the signature may appear smaller than the selected signature area.

This is expected behaviour and preserves the correct aspect ratio.

Does Draw To Sign support other signature pad models?

Draw To Sign currently supports the signature pad models listed on this page.

How do I use Draw To Sign with a web browser?

Install the Draw To Sign Browser Extension in Google Chrome.
